Aims
A transient community and ecovillage. A centre of impermanence and transformation. A place which is always evolving, always in process but never complete, yet, grounded, peaceful and rooted in the ever-present moment that is now.
Past and current students of Kundalini Bodywork check in from short stays of a few days, to longer stays of a few months. All practices are welcome, it’s not a cult, although it has a defined culture that is focused on the realisation of ultimate spiritual truth, whilst embracing the gift of separation as we create beauty, abundance and harmony for all who visit. Past and current students of Kundalini Bodywork are welcomed as this immediately gives shared passion and purpose which new passions are built from. As the centre itself has been built partly *or fully* from the wealth that Kundalini Bodywork created, it seems fitting those who bought the course are the ones invited to enjoy the centre.
A centre for holistic health where healing is the path to awakening, and awakening is the path to enlightenment.
To feel like a Burning Man festival is happening in your living room during your college semester abroad, focused on the art of self-healing and self-awakening.
Legal, financial and physical structures that allow us to adapt to change, be relatively independent and flexible in an uncertain and changing world.
Off-grid energy with basic food and water security, as we exist outside of the mainstream system (outside of the matrix, so to speak) while working alongside it.
Integrated with nature.
The whole site is a permaculture project and ecological build.
And it seems we have secured the jungle forest and river walk below taking our site from over 4’000m2 to over 10’000m2 (over 1 hectare).
AFTER CREATING THE PERFECT PLAN, I THREW IT ALL AWAY AND DECIDED TO TRUST.
The perfect plan: an investor project for a large sum of money with pitch decks, attractive ROI, legal contracts, financial, projections, strategies and management systems…
I realised that non of these things have a place in a mystery school. Especially such a successful school that originated from a flat broke therapist living in a VW van who simply believed in the power of what he was doing, of the work, of humanity’s innate ability to love more and be better than yesterday.
So I released all attachments to what I want the ‘Centre for Kundalini Bodywork’ to be and came back to listening to what is happening in the present.
The dream and direction are still there, but once again, they are balanced with surrender to what is, and in greater harmony with what the collective consciousness needs.

WHY TRANSIENT
Transient communities create a consistent and fresh flow of energy. Energy like this supports ANEW to further its mission: offering greater opportunities to build lasting connections through education and spiritual practices rooted in wisdom, healing, and transformation.
Transience creates spaciousness and puts us in touch with the fragility of life and the constant cycle of renewal through endings and new beginnings. While both our guests and practitioners are welcome to return, being in temporary states of community, as opposed to long-term, allows us to see and truly value the preciousness of time. With each new stay at ANEW, we are invited to evolve and renew our devotion to service, whether as guests, students, or practitioners.
This project is transient in 3 ways
The centre has very few permanent staff (except local Balinese). Even our best therapists must take time away each year (this prevents a guru/cult mentality and ensures no one becomes too comfortable and relies on the centre for personal security).

Financing:
To be a self-sustaining model, run on donations from the people who stay there which creates abundance as we have already healed our greed, learnt to grow with nature and teach people to do the same.
We’ve started gardening, growing flowers and food already, with the basic landscaping and infrastructure completed, and some smaller buildings. We don’t currently have enough to finish building, and our architects master plan is soon to be with our building permit company. While a plan for a few select investors who also want to live at the centre part-time is in process, if we can finish building the centre to the point that it becomes self sustaining without investors and just from the profits of our online courses and trainings, then that would be amazing as we will be able to offer more to our students that way without having debts to pay back.
Previously I had some personal tension around investing everything “I” did into this project, and risking everything “I” made from the schools success, but I strongly feel that everything “I” make is made to be shared as in a higher truth, there is no “I”, and yet there must be this sense of individualism for the the collective “we” or the bigger “I” to grow.
In one hand I keep ownership of it all so it can grow in safe hands, and in the other hand I know I don’t really own anything.
When we truly love something we have to let it go, let it be free, and let it grow into what its meant to be.

20 minutes from the wellness tourist hotspot of Ubud, on the island of Bali, our location is surrounded by lush jungle and serene rice paddies that are protected from overdevelopment. Known as the 'Island of the Gods and Goddesses,' Bali offers a tranquil and spiritually enriching environment, perfect for those seeking connection with nature and inner peace.
Ubud is a famous tourist destination with a vibrant expat community of those seeking conscious spiritual growth.

Supporting local people
I found this land through the support of local people and village have tried to make me feel like part of their family in many ways. I found this land as I stayed at friends closr by and her cleaner heard I wanted to build a school for Kundalini Bodywork. She wanted to help me and and asked her husbands brother to lease me his land. Since this moment the project has unfolded more like a dream. The land we have was not even on the market.
We’ve worked with the local children paying them to clean up all the plastic waste in their village twice now. We have a partnership with our neighbour to support his business, and we hope to support more local people to build their own successful, ethical and sustainable businesses that would serve our centre and beyond.
We employe local people as much as we can.
We’ve sent our workers on a bee keeping course and have bees and natural bee hives now. We plan to clean the local river, and restore access to and make the local waterfall safe again. And eventually we’d like to create a farming co-operative to make the whole village organic (especially the rice fields), giving farmers financial security in making the shift to organic and supporting them to find sale outlets (introducing more wild barn owls to the area). But this is all very far in the future. For now we’re employing as many local people as we can who would like to work with us to build the centre.
